Model a doll which looks like you. If you want to practice real voodoo magic, make sure the doll actually resembles you (in terms of its figure, disproportions, stoop). If you don't do that, your voodoo magic spells won't be able to help you.

When the doll is ready, apply some blood to the doll's forehead, chest and belly, and say, "I name you… (say your name) Now you are me!"

If we explored voodoo deeper, however, we would find a rich and diverse spiritual practice. We would see that voodoo dolls are not instruments of evil. Rather, they are instruments of intent.

Voodoo is a religion that has been carried all around the globe, and all voodoo stems from ancient Africa. There, the religion is largely untouched by foreign influence, with thousands of years of indigenous tradition and heritage backing it up.

"Voodoo" means "spirit of God." Believers of voodoo hold true to one distant yet ever-present God, yet they speak with the spirits, called the Loa. The Loa are our dead ancestors and the messengers of the Creator. They influence the daily affairs of the living, especially when it comes to love, money, family, happiness, justice or revenge.

There is not much that is as closely tied to voodoo as the voodoo doll. African shamans started using dolls as a way to communicate with the Loa, like their dead ancestor, for guidance. The voodoo doll proved to be a reliable tool, for after thousands of years it is still used for important rituals.

In the days following Christopher Columbus' exploration of the new world, voodoo began to change. As droves of African slaves were brought to the Americas, religions and customs began to mix. Voodoo became a mish-mash of European folk magic, Native American healing arts and Catholicism. There are various ways to acquire the voodoo doll and all you need is a little bit of consistency.

The doll can be acquired simply by leveling up the mischief skill (because why won't you have a Mischief Skill when you are making an evil Sim) and even while fishing or digging and this guide will show you exactly how to acquire your very own magical object.

How to Get Voodoo Doll
While the Voodoo doll can be acquired by fishing in the far back waters of Oasis Springs Park or in the Forgotten Grotto and Sylvan Glades, the best way is to level up your Mischief skill.

There is also a chance you will get the doll while digging random areas for treasure.

If you are going for the Mischief Skill option, you will have to increase your skill to level 3.

Once you reach that level, an on screen message will tell you the doll is now purchasable. Simply use your computer and purchase as many of Madame Zoe's Voodoo Dolls as you like since you can bind multiple Sims, each to a different doll. Each doll costs 950 simoleans.

The dolls will appear immediately in the Sim's inventory upon purchase.

How to Use Voodoo Doll
Now that you have the doll, you can use it to unleash the evil within you. Before you can do that however, and it doesn't matter how you acquired the doll, you will need to increase your Mischief skill to at least level 1.

Each doll can be bound to one specific Sim and then it can be used on them.

Any Sim from your Sim's friends list can be chosen for the binding spell as long as they are on the same Active Lot as your own Sim.

Just click on the doll and use "Bind". Binding may not always be successful if your Mischief Skill level is low, so it's probably a good idea to have the skill at level 3.

No matter how evil you are, you still have a heart which is probably why Voodoo dolls can't be used on children and neither can they use the dolls themselves to bind someone.

The doll comes with a list of default interactions when the Sim is at Mischief level 1, however increasing the skill level adds a few more interactions.

List of Voodoo Doll interactions

• Summon : Summons the bound Sim to the current Active Lot
• Poke : This interaction is available starting from Level 1 Mischief Skill. The bound Sim will get Angry and receive the Pain moodlet.
• Frolic : This interaction also requires Level 1 Mischief Skill the targeted Sim becomes Playful and gets the Joy moodlet.
• Tickle : This interaction needs Level 3 in the Mischief Skill and will put the targeted Sim in an Uncomfortable state with the Uneasy moodlet on them.
• Soak : Requires level 5 in Mischief and puts the targeted Sim in a Dazed state.
• Cuddle : This is a bonus skill only for those who have Level 2 in Charisma. The targeted Sim becomes Flirty.

While Voodoo magic may be cool, it has its consequences and in some cases it can backfire on the caster.

• Successful Voodoo : The Active Sim, the one doing the magic gets the Confident moodlet and emotion.
• Backfire Voodoo : The spell backfires and the Active Sim gets the Uncomfortable emotion.
• Failed Voodoo : The spell fails and the Active Sim becomes Sad.

Removing The Effects of Voodoo Doll
If you somehow get tired of your tyrannical reign, the Sims you have a hold over can be freed since Bind is not permanent and can be undone by choosing Unbind by clicking on the Voodoo Doll.

This option is however available only to those with Level 5 in Mischief Skill.

Sims who are at work cannot be unbound so you will have to wait for them to get free since they cannot be Summoned. Those who aren't currently in the same lot as the player's Sim will have to be Summoned before you can Unbind them.

There are multiple ways to acquire a Voodoo Doll in The Sims 4: Leveling up in the Mischief Skill, Fishing and Digging. This guide contains all the information you need on finding and using the Voodoo Doll.

Getting Your Hands on a Voodoo Doll

Voodoo Dolls can be acquired by raising the Mischief Skill, when fishing in the far back waters of the Oasis Springs Park, when fishing in the waters of the Forgotten Grotto and Sylvan Glades, and found when digging for treasures. The easiest way to get one is leveling up your Mischief Skill.

Once your Sim has raised their Mischief Skill to a Level 3, they will have the option to purchase the Voodoo Doll via computer for §950 simoleons. To raise a Sim's Mischief Skill, use the Mischief socials on other Sims. When your Sim reaches Level 2 of the Mischief Skill, they will also be able to use the computer or tablet to "troll teh forums". This interaction raises the Mischief skill much faster.

❗ Sims with the Evil trait will automatically have the option to "troll teh forums".

Using the Voodoo Doll

No matter how you have acquired the VooDoo doll, you will need at least a Level 1 in the Mischief Skill to use it. Once you have reached this level in the skill, you will have to "Bind" the Voodoo to a specific Sim in order to use it. Anyone from your friendship panel can be chosen, so long as they are on the same active lot as you.

❗ Sims with a lower Mischief Skill will not always be successful at binding the doll to a Sim.

❗ You cannot bind a Voodoo Doll to a child.

❗ Children cannot use Voodoo Dolls.

❗ Sims can purchase multiple Voodoo Dolls and bind them to multiple Sims.

The Voodoo Doll comes with some default interactions at Level 1 of the Mischief Skill, but leveling up the skill unlocks two additional interactions. Below is the full list of Voodoo Doll interactions:

• Summon – Targeted Sim will come to the active lot

• Poke (Level 1 Mischief Skill) – Targeted Sim will receive the Pain Moodlet and "Angry" Emotion.

• Frolic (Level 1 Mischief Skill) – Targeted Sim will receive the Joy Moodlet and "Playful" Emotion.

• Tickle (Level 3 Mischief Skill) – Targeted Sim will receive the Uneasy Moodlet and "Uncomfortable" Emotion.

• Soak (Level 5 Mischief Skill) – Targeted Sim will receive the Dazed Moodlet and "Dazed" Emotion.

• Toy with Death (Level 5 Mischief Skill – Only available during death) – Grim Reaper will lose the ability to kill a dying Sim.

• BONUS: Cuddle – Sims who have a Level 2 in the Charisma Skill will receive this bonus interaction. Targeted Sim will receive the Flirty Moodlet and "Flirty" Emotion.

Not all Voodoo Doll actions are successful. Sims with higher Mischief Skills are most likely to succeed, however, all Sims risk a Voodoo Doll backfire and failure.

• Successful Voodoo – Active Sim will receive the "Confident" Moodlet and Emotion.

• Backfire Voodoo – Active Sim will receive the "Uncomfortable" Moodlet and Emotion.

• Failed Voodoo – Active Sim will receive the "Sad" Moodlet and Emotion.

Binding the Voodoo Doll is not permanent, and can be undone by selecting "Unbind" from the doll's options. The "unbind" option is only available to Sims with a Level 5 in the Mischief Skill.

If you have chosen to bind someone who does not live in your current household, you will have to "Summon" them and unbind them once they are on your active lot.

❗ You cannot "Summon" Sims who are at work

Popularized by tourist shops and an American writer who saw the dolls on a trip once, these dolls are misunderstood, like so much else in the Voodoo spirituality. What you may not realize is that they are magical workings that are more often used to promote positive outcomes, rather than negative pin sticks. Here are the not-so-scary basics of Voodoo dolls.

The basics of Voodoo

Voodoo is a practice that is thought to be as old as the continent of Africa. It began as a practice of the people and then spread to Haiti and the Caribbean and Louisiana as those same practitioners were taken as slaves to the new lands. With each new destination, the practice of Voodoo shifted, creating a rich history even as it was shrouded in horrible circumstances.

Within Voodoo, there is the idea of one God who is all-powerful and all-knowing, but who is not interested in interacting with people. Instead, there are ancestors and loa (or lwa), spirits, that can communicate directly with the Voodoo practitioners. The spirits are often taken into the bodies of priests and priestesses, aiding in their ability to talk directly to the people. In all of this, the practice of Voodoo is often centered on healing. Whether this is healing of the heart or of the body, this spirituality is positive and uplifting, with a goal of generating happiness and balance.

How to use a Voodoo doll

A Voodoo doll can be created to represent a spirit or a human being. It can be created with different colors, depending on the purpose of the doll, e.g. red for love, green for wealth, blue for peace, etc.

This doll is typically used as a focal point for meditation or for prayers and spells. By creating this doll, you create a place for a certain energy to reside. You can then pin charms or other items TO the doll (not through the doll) to help it be more personalized to that person or to the spirit that you're praying to.

You can create a relationship with the doll by offering it water or by feeling it with more tokens of appreciation. For example, some might like tobacco smoke while others might want offerings of chocolate. You can sit with the doll and ask it questions or appeal to the doll to do something for you.

The question of cursing

In the days of slavery, the practice of Voodoo dolls was interpreted as being a curse against the slave owners. However, in most cases, the dolls instead were used as ways to reach out to certain spirits for support and guidance. These dolls were used more for self-defense not for hurting anyone else.

You might choose to make a Voodoo doll for your own purposes. For example, you might make a doll that is the representation of the love spirit so you can attract love into your life. This doll might be made from red fabric, stuffed with rose petals, and then anointed with a sensual perfume or anointing oil. You might talk to it every day about what you want from love in your life, what it might look like, and how you might feel when you are loved.

Ritual One:

Get all the necessary materials needed for preparing your voodoo doll. Design the voodoo doll to look like your target and remember to add some of his personal elements. After your voodoo doll is ready, consecrate it by calling upon loa then you can download the best energies and faith to that doll. You can baptize the doll and name it after your client. After this ritual, this doll shall be a medium to reach your target. You can pronounce your wishes to the doll and it will be fulfilled. Store the doll where no one can see it and only bring it out when you have a new command.

Ritual Two:

This Voodoo Control Spell must be cast on a Tuesday.

Items required:

• A picture or personal item of the person you wish to control.
• Twine
• Piece of paper and pen
• Quartz Crystal
• Milk
• A lock of hair of the person
• 3 green candles
• Yams
• Mangos
• 3 pins
• Rain Water
• Whiskey

Steps:

• Write your target's name on the paper
• Fold up the picture into 3 or 7 times and put it into the paper.
• Add the personal item (hair, nails, etc…)
• Fold up the paper to form a package.
• Tie the package with a twine and this shall represent the target.

While carrying out these procedures you must constantly meditate on your requests. You should create an altar for Voodoo Loa Simbi and ask him for help. Decorate his altar with offerings of milk, rainwater, whisky, yams, quartz and mangos.

Continue with the following steps:

• Place the candles close to the package as both items represent the target.
• Light one of the green candles, meditate on how you wish to control your target and call on Loa Simbi for assistance.
• Hold the pin in your right hand then stick it into the green candle. Do these while focusing on your desires.
• As the first green candle burns light up another and repeat the process of meditating and sticking of pin.
• Repeat the same process for the third green candle then let all candles burn out completely.

At this stage you are expected to gather the remnants of the candle, yam, milk, whisky etc… and package representing the victim and offer them to Simbi who is the Loa of water. You can do this by throwing those items into an ocean, river, lake, etc.. After which you should say prayers of thanksgiving.

The VooDoo Doll is a special interactive object that comes with The Sims 4. Although it cannot be purchased through the Build Mode, there are 3 other ways to find it/unlock it.

The first way to find this Doll is to dig, dig and dig! Some Neighborhoods have certain rocks that have a "Dig" interaction on them. The chances to find this doll by digging are very small, but it's worth a shot!

The second way to find this Doll is to fish at 2 secret Neighborhoods and those are Sylvan Glades and Forgotten Grotto. Unlocking those 2 Neighborhoods is a very difficult task, and you may not always find a VooDoo Doll by fishing.

The third, most easiest way to find the VooDoo Doll is to level up your Mischief Skill to Level 3. You can do so by doing mischievous interactions towards other Sims and objects.

After you've leveled up, click on the Computer and select Order > Purchase VooDoo Doll. You can purchase more than more 1 Doll if you'd like to bind them to more than 1 Sim!

Your VooDoo Doll(s) will appear in your Sim's inventory. You'll first need to bind the Doll to a nearby Sim (must be on the same lot).

Before you start using the VooDoo Doll, please notice that you can bind Teens, Young Adults, Adults & Elders. Babies and Children cannot use it or be binded by it.

Sims with lower Mischief Skill might not succeed in binding on first attempt, but you can always try and be persistent!

You'll know that your Sim has successfully binded their Sim with a VooDoo Doll if you receive a notification about it + if you get the "You Do the VooDoo" Moodlet (makes your Sim Confident).

Here's which interactions you can do to the VooDoo Doll that will affect a binded Sim:

Summon – This interaction allows you to summon a binded Sim – whether they're in the same Neighborhood you're in or not!

Frolic (Mischief Skill Level 1) – This interaction will give a binded Sim the Playful Emotion.

Poke (Mischief Skill Level 1) – This interaction will give a binded Sim the Angry Emotion.

Tickle (Mischief Skill Level 3) – This interaction will give a binded Sim the Uncomfortable Emotion.

Soak (Mischief Skill Level 5) – This interaction will give a binded Sim the Dazed Emotion.

Cuddle (Charisma Skill Level 2) – This interaction will give a binded Sim the Flirty Emotion.

Sims who have a low Mischief Skill and/or use the VooDoo Doll way too often might get backfired by the doll and receive negative Moodlets and Emotions.

Backfire: Sim who's in control of the VooDoo Doll will get this Moodlet and an Uncomfortable Emotion (Poke, Soak and Tickle interactions).

Fizzle: Sim who's in control of the VooDoo Doll will get this Moodlet and a Sad Emotion (Frolic and Cuddle interactions).

To unbind a Sim from the doll, your Sim will need to be at the 5th Level of Mischief Skill (or higher). Click on your Sim's inventory, find the VooDoo Doll and select "unbind".

Voodoo Dolls can be a very effective form of spellwork.

They can be made out of different materials. They can be made out of fabric and stuffed with moss and herbs. Some Voodoo Dolls are made from sticks tied together. Some people use corn dollies and some make them from wax.

Regardless of the material that makes the doll, one thing is absolutely essential for the doll to have any chance of success. It must contain personal taglocks from the target.

The taglocks are what links the doll to its target

and the more personal the better. Taglocks can include hair, skin, blood, nail clippings, and handwriting. These would be very good taglocks. Other things that can also be used fabric from clothes worn by the target, jewelry that has been worn by the target, and anything else that has a personal connection to the person.

The most popular type of Voodoo doll is made from cloth.

It is stuffed with Spanish moss and a variety of particular herbs and objects. Each person has their own method for creating a Voodoo doll. Once the doll has been assembled, then it is time to add little details to the doll. Usually a picture of the targets face is used. Any identifying characteristics that the target has are added to the doll. This can be in the form of tattoos, scars, birth marks, etc.

Once the doll is complete, then a spell is placed on the doll to link it with the target.
