Follow Topics Instead of Just Pages on Facebook
Facebook is testing a new characteristic that could make your News Feed a petty more interesting: the ability to follow general topics instead of just Pages.
Say you're into horror movies. Post-obit that topic will bring stories from more than than two dozen related Facebook pages — including HellHorror.com, Horrornews.net, and Horror Guild — into your News Feed, co-ordinate to screenshots posted by TechCrunch. Or peradventure you're interested in marine biology and environmentalism; but follow the "Ocean Science & Conservation" topic to see stories from sources like the National Ocean Service, Ocean Salvation, and more in your News Feed.
"We're testing means for people to subscribe directly to topics in News Feed so they can see more stories about topics they like," Facebook said in a statement to PCMag. "In addition to following specific Pages, this is a new way to follow the general topics y'all're interested in."
Those with access to the feature are seeing a "Topics to Follow" carousel in their News Feed. Swipe through to browse various topics such equally theater and photography and follow whatever of interest.
This new exam comes equally Facebook works to curb the spread of fake news on the platform.
